Job Duties: A new NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Ted Golos at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This project is multidisciplinary, interfacing with collaborators in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medical Physics/Radiology implementing MRI to study uterine and intervillous blood flow, developing models of fetal growth restriction and maternalfetal immunology in pregnant nonhuman primates. The position will involve primary responsibility for working day-to-day with veterinary and animal care staff in monitoring reproductive cycles and pregnancy and scheduling experimental procedures, planning experiments and analyses of collected samples, assisting collaborators in preparation of manuscripts reporting research results, and presenting research at conferences. The postdoctoral fellow will also interact closely with lab staff in implementing Luminex assays for cytokines and other soluble regulators in serum and tissue specimens, and histological and flow cytometric analysis of immune cells in the experimental models.

Requirements: Ph.D. in Physiology, Cell or Molecular Biology or related disciplines. The successful candidate will have a solid background in pregnancy and reproductive sciences; experience in reproductive immunology would be highly beneficial. Desirable technical skills include primary cell isolation from tissues, histological analyses by IHC and ISH, flow cytometry and immune cell isolation and analyses, bioinformatics and RNAseq analyses.
